Paris, France April 20, 2009 -- Caterpillar today introduced the Cat® C7.1 ACERT™ and C9.3 ACERT™, the two newest members of the forthcoming Cat® Tier 4 Interim/Stage IIIB diesel engine lineup, at stand #J003 in hall 5B at Intermat in Paris Nord-Villepinte. Designed for construction, material handling and other industrial applications, the new midrange models cover the critical horsepower band from 175 to 440 hp (130 to 328 kW). These new engine platforms produce fuel consumption improvements of up to 5% compared to existing Tier 3/Stage IIIA engines. Fuel economy improvements are dependent upon and subject to application, ratings and operating conditions.

The introduction of the EW230C wheeled excavator, Volvo’s largest to date, offers superior stability in heavier lift operations. The EW230C from Volvo Construction Equipment is built around a new, more robust platform, which is designed to ensure the stability needed to manage bigger loads, for heavy lifting applications, such as laying big pipe for drainage projects, or hard digging.
Following the recent launch of the EW210C, a benefit of this platform for a machine in this 20t weight class, is that its design ensures that the rear axle weight, when fitted with the standard counterweight, is below 12t – making it approved for road travel between sites.

(Antwerp, Belgium, 12 November, 2008.) Atlas Copco’s newly launched improvements to its 11-30 kW GA+/GA VSD compressor range have resulted in world-class Free Air Delivery (FAD). These oil-injected compressors are probably one of the world’s most compact and silent ever to operate on a work floor in this kW range. A new integrated dryer enhances energy efficiency and air quality simultaneously.
